About Susan J. Keeton, CPA, P.A.

I started this firm back in 2005 because I saw too many business owners who felt confused, reactive, and unsure whether they were making the right financial decisions. They were working hard, doing everything they could for their businesses, yet still felt anxious about taxes, compliance, and long-term planning. I knew there had to be a better way to support them.

For me, accounting and tax work isn’t just about forms and deadlines — it’s about helping people build something meaningful and sustainable. When you understand your numbers and have a plan, you can make confident decisions, reduce unnecessary stress, and focus your energy where it matters most: serving your clients, growing your business, and protecting your family’s future.

That’s why I take a proactive, relationship-based approach. I don’t just prepare returns; I help you think ahead, identify opportunities, and avoid costly surprises. I take the time to learn how your business operates, what your goals are, and what keeps you up at night, so the advice you receive is practical and relevant — not generic.

I also believe that working together should be convenient, secure, and respectful of your time. I provide services virtually and leverage technology to streamline communication, document sharing, and collaboration, while placing a strong emphasis on data security and client confidentiality. This allows us to work efficiently without sacrificing the personal connection or the privacy you deserve.

My goal is simple: to be the advisor you can trust, the one who knows your business and stands beside you as it grows and changes. When my clients feel confident and successful, that’s when I know I’m doing my job right.

Susan J. Keeton, CPA, CFE, CDFA®

I graduated with honors from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and am licensed in Florida as both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. I focus on tax, accounting, and advisory services for mental health professionals and other small business owners, bringing more than two decades of experience to complex financial and compliance matters. I have been licensed as a CPA for over 22 years and have held the Certified Fraud Examiner designation for more than 21 years, giving me a unique depth of expertise when issues require careful analysis and sound judgment.

For more than ten years, I worked with a spiritually integrated counseling services nonprofit organization, which gave me firsthand insight into the financial, compliance, and operational challenges faced by mission-driven service organizations and healthcare-adjacent practices. That experience continues to shape how I support today’s mental health professionals in private practice.

I established my firm in 2005 and am known for my relationship-driven, personalized approach, providing clients with thoughtful guidance grounded in experience, integrity, and ongoing professional education.
